The Circular Fashion Federation and KPMG France publish the 2026 edition of the study "Current situation and outlook for circular fashion in Europe", a benchmark analysis dedicated to the development of circular economic models in the fashion industry.
In a context marked by accelerating European regulatory requirements and changing consumer expectations, this study offers an updated perspective on the economic opportunities associated with the circular transition of the sector. It examines the growth prospects of the four main drivers of circularity: eco-design, second-hand goods, repair and recycling.
The results show that these activities could represent a market of nearly 104 billion euros in Europe by 2030 and support more 88 000 Jobsconfirming the growing role of circularity as a driver of competitiveness, innovation and value creation for the textile industry.
This 2026 edition also introduces a first estimate of the eco-design market, still little documented at the European level, and analyzes the impact of the main regulatory developments underway, in particular within the framework of the European Green Deal, the ESPR and the revision of the legislation relating to textile waste.
Through market analyses, economic projections and regulatory insights, this study provides companies, public decision-makers and ecosystem players with the necessary elements to anticipate transformations in the sector and identify the conditions for the development of large-scale circular models.
